Narcan Used To Rescue Wallkill Woman, 24, Who Overdosed

Wallkill Sgt. Daniel Ward and Police Officer Daniel Graham responded to an  Emergency Medical Services call  earlier this month at a residence on Meadow Lakes Drive.

Upon arrival, the officers discovered a 24-year-old female from the Town of Wallkill unconscious on a bedroom floor.

The victim was unresponsive and demonstrating signs of an overdose. Police Officer Graham, assisted by Sergeant Ward, began administering emergency first aid, including the use of Department issued nasally delivered Narcan. 

Within a minute, the victim regained consciousness and was treated at the scene by Town of Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps, according to Wallkill Police Chief Robert C. Hertman.

The rescue occurred about 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 13, police said.
